Prevention
With our regular patients, we rely heavily on preventive techniques to keep children healthy without having to perform invasive procedures. Prevention saves everyone time and money!

Minimally Invasive
We try to do as little invasive work as possible on children until they are old enough and comfortable with our office. We take extra care with our little patients to make them feel safe and comfortable.

Speed
As many parents have experienced, children have an internal clock at doctor’s offices. We use every medicine and tool at our disposal to provide a speedy service in order to keep children at peace.

Of course, we make exceptions for specific situations where a child might have an infection and needs to have the tooth removed. Everything is done on a case-by-case basis, but we always provide children with the same quality of care with which we provide adults.

SMART Technique

The process we use on most children who have cavities is called the SMART technique. This technique allows us to treat cavities in children in a minimally invasive way.

The SMART technique uses a medicine called Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF), which is an antibacterial liquid. The silver helps harden decayed tooth structure while killing the bacteria that causes tooth decay.

Once the SDF is placed and the bacteria causing the decay has been eradicated, the tooth structure regains its firm base.

Finally, we use a filling called Glass Ionomer (GI) to fill any holes in the tooth where bacteria might have already degraded tooth structure. The GI also releases fluoride over time to make sure the tooth stays as strong as possible.

Pain-free Procedures

Using the latest technology with lasers (yes, lasers!) we are able to perform procedures like pain-free, shotless fillings. This makes the dental experience that much better for children. Our laser is the most advanced dental laser on the market and it was specifically made to reduce anesthetic procedures. Now 90% of our procedures are anesthetic free for kids and adults! For those with baby teeth virtually all (96%) of our procedures are anesthetic free.
